About This Houjicha
In Japan, Houjicha is a welcoming drink served at homes and businesses for weary guests. The sense of warmth permeates this powdered Houjicha, with its decadent rich cocoa, coffee, and toasty notes.
From the hands of Tsujiさん, one of Japan’s most highly regarded producers in Japan. Our Houjicha contains only first spring harvest material (known as Ichibancha) and is roasted in Japan.
Roasting can be fickle. Under-roasting will not bring out the celebrated fiery notes one expects from Houjicha, and overdone leaves an ashy, unpleasant taste that is all too common with Houjicha.
Prepare powdered Houjicha with milk for exceptional Lattes, or simply use it as a low-caffeine replacement for coffee.

Refrigerator Short-term Storage: Opened Matcha can be stored in the refrigerator to help maintain freshness, however, the Matcha is at risk of condensation when cooler than ambient air. For this reason, if you choose to store an opened Matcha in the refrigerator, be sure to take the Matcha you need and then immediately place it back in the refrigerator to minimize exposure to the warm air.
