Revolutionary
Ooika was the world’s first matcha café to prepare cafe-drinks exclusively using matcha milled fresh in-house daily.
Tea houses and matcha dessert shops have long existed. Yet approaching Matcha like Western specialty coffee was entirely novel.
From exclusively serving in-house milled Matcha, providing full sourcing details & mill dates, to serving directly-sourced, single-origin Matcha (akin to a coffee pour over) in a high-volume, cafe environment was entirely novel.
Ooika created the specialty matcha café category when we opened in 2022, years before the matcha boom.

Their authentic Japanese Matcha is the best of the best. I've been there 2 times with roughly 2-hour drive but it's all worth it. Will come back for sure.

Matcha is milled fresh the whole time, and the artisans behind each drink are meticulously measuring to get the perfect ratio of Matcha to water. Can't wait to go back!
