Private Community

Join an exclusive online community of members to learn, discuss and explore the world of heritage Matcha. Share your tasting notes every month.

Meet the Farmers behind the Matcha

Ooika has fostered close, personal relationships with the individual heritage tea farmers. Matcha Mill Club lets you connect with them, and the generations of techniques they’ve passed down and preserved.

Kurazumiさん’s story

First place winner of the Annual National Tea Competition for Gyokuro. His father won a stunning total of 5 National Tea Competition.

Tsujiさん’s Story

A 5th generation tea farmer. He holds multiple tea awards including the highly coveted Prime Minister’s Award for Agriculture in 2017.

His Matcha holds the distinction of being the only Matcha to receive the Emperor's award.

Preserve the Aroma of the Past

Heritage tea farms in Japan, where things are done according to tradition, are being lost to time. Few youths are willing to replace the aging tea masters as domestic interest in high-grade tea diminishes.

Once the techniques handed from father to son for centuries are gone the aromas and flavors they create will be lost to humanity for good.

Preserving a Future for Heritage Matcha with Matcha Mill Club

Contribute to the savory, bright flavors of conservatively produced Matcha passed down from multi-generational tea farms to continue on for the generations to come.

Shimizuさん’s Story

From a highly respected tea farmer family, with over 10 generations before him.

Shimizuさん, his father, brother, and family continue to produce high-grade Uji Matcha.

Only “the good stuff”

The Matcha Mill Club only sends “the good stuff.” We don’t hold back on our more expensive Matcha. You will always get at least what you paid for your membership. Some months, many times more.

Yoshidaさん’s Story

17th generation tea farmer charged with managing the first cultivated tea garden (800-year history) in Japan at Kozanji temple.

His family has won First Place in the Annual National Tea Competition 20 times.

Limited Vintages, Captured

Here are just a few of the Matcha we have sent out in the past. Like wine vintages, once we sell out – that’s it. Fine Tencha is extremely limited in stock.

The unique flavors, aromas, and textures are gone forever, as each year the weather, technique, and soil change. No two matcha from the same farm is ever the same.
