About this Set
Tea farmers, Matcha manufacturers, and judges of Japanese tea competitions such as the prestigious annual National Tea Competition (回全国茶品評会) use a set of examination tools to get a better understanding of the unground Matcha, known as Tencha.
For the first time in history, to our knowledge, Ooika has made these industry-insider tools from Japan available to the public. Using these tools, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the tea you’re drinking — just as the Chashi (茶師) tea masters do.

These tools allow one to examine Tencha for competition, or quality. Ooika has sourced these tea tools directly from Japan for the first time, so you’ll be able to better examine unground Matcha, known as Tencha, from the comfort of your own home.
This set is especially useful for members of Ooika’s Matcha Mill Club - where fresh mill a new Matcha every month, and send it to your doorstep within 24 hours of Milling. We include a 3 gram sample of the unground version of every Matcha we mill — Tencha — that can now be examined professionally by you.

Hand wash with mild soap and a non-abrasive sponge. Allow your ceramics to air dry (or gently dry with a soft towel.)

Ensure your ceramic is completely dry before storing it. Avoid stacking them on top of one another to prevent cracking or chipping.
