Flooded Matcha Fundraiser

Background

Flooding at Ooika Lawrence

On January 22nd 2026, a pipe unexpectedly exploded above Ooika Lawrenceville, flooding the space. The damage was extensive, causing the space to be closed down.

We made the decision to keep all of our staff employed & given hours, at a great cost to Ooika. This burden is not covered by insurance, but we feel it necessary to protect our team who rely on the income.

This came at an inopportune time as our Nassau shop opening has been delayed. We currently employee three general mangers, two teams of staff, and pay rent on three locations - with only one shop operating.

The Flooded Matcha Fundraiser

Ooika Matcha Team

To help ease burden as we get back on our feet, and help support our team, we are launching the Flooded Matcha Fundraiser.

Join us on March 7th from 8AM to 7PM at the Ooika Witherspoon location for:

  • Raffles with prizes from local businesses.

  • A limited “Flooded Matcha Latte” flavor and cookie.

  • A limited-edition “WHAT THE FLOOD” Ooika Sticker.

  • And more.

The Flooded Matcha Latte and Flooded cookie are “pay what you want” with a suggested MSRP. Any payments above the suggested MSRP get a complimentary raffle ticket.

Thank you to our friends and neighbors - please spread the word, and see you on March 7th!
