We typically think of Matcha in the context of Japanese Tea Ceremony, the art known as Chanoyu. A meditative ritual where Matcha acts more as a metaphor than a physical object. In the craft of Matcha, we'll examine Matcha as Matcha itself: its cultivation as a fine food, varied production techniques, and personal histories of the farmers behind the craft.
Join Marc, owner of Ooika, as we examine the craft of Matcha itself. In addition to discussing the production and cultivation of Matcha tea, participants will mill and drink their own Matcha using authentic Japanese Ishi Usu stone mills.
Ooika's mission is to preserve heritage Matcha. Sourced from the rarest multi-generational tea farms across Japan, our Matcha is milled in-house authentic Ishi-Usu (石臼) stone mills, so you can experience Matcha how it was intended: fresh.
